Yoga teacher Jane Cradick puts the Animal Active collection to the test

15 Feb

We love our brand new activewear range, but naturally, your opinion matters more than ours. With that in mind, we decided to send a few of our favourite yoga pieces to Jane Cradick, yoga teacher from Cornwall, to see what she made of it. Read her feedback below.

I was really excited to receive my package full of goodies from Animal. Some of my favourite yoga clothes are made by them and I’m happy to say that they have continued to delight. The new Animal activewear range is some of the most comfortable, vibrant and well-made yoga clothes I’ve found.

Each item is made with wicking material that draws moisture away from the body, offers perfect support and has bright, eye-catching designs which fill the yoga studio with sunshine… certainly what we need on these dark winter days. But enough about the technical side; let me share with you some of my favourite pieces from the new collection and why I can’t stop raving about them.

Niyama yoga leggings

I live in yoga pants and it’s a constant struggle to find ones that fit my curvy shape, that aren’t see-through, shiny or slippery and that support me as I stretch and flex. I often spend way too much money on yoga pants that lose their elasticity quickly and end up falling down, which is a nightmare when you’re teaching a room full of yogis!

The Niyama are so well designed and fit perfectly. They have a supportive band around the waist, which help them stay up whilst holding you in. They are thick enough to keep you warm, yet breathable and totally flexible. I’ve already washed them several times and they’ve kept their shape… Halleluiah… finally a pair of yoga pants I can roll with!

Kayleigh vests

They’re a perfect match to the Niyama leggings. With its awesome orange and blue print and built-in sports bra, I feel supported as I practice. It’s hard to find tops that don’t have a mind of their own. I’m sure any yogis know how annoying it is when you’re in downward dog pose and your top slides down, exposing your belly to the room! Need I say more?

Loa Felix Sports Bra

The Loa Felix sports bra has ample support and comes in the same paint- splashed bold print with an attractive back strap. It is often a nightmare trying to find the right sports bra for yoga but the double layers provides high impact support in a light weight package. It’s also flexible enough to allow unrestricted freedom of movement, and looks awesome under a vest top.

Allyson Dash Hoodie

I love the contrast between the tranquil blue and the flash of bright orange. I wouldn’t typically practice in a hoodie but the fabric feels so nice on the skin that after my class it’s a pleasure to put it on. It fits like a glove and I’m as snug as a bug for the walk home.

As a yoga teacher and practitioner, it’s essential that the clothes I wear offer sufficient comfort, support and flexibility but also look good. Anything like that usually costs a fortune but not this. This collection really does have it all! Each item is perfectly designed for yoga and certainly enhances my practice. Highly recommended!
