Time to hit the UK's beach festivals
We’re approaching the height of summer and there’s only one thing we can think of, hitting the beach! In previous blogs we’ve talked about the rise of urban festivals and our love for the ultimate festival experience, camping, so we thought we’d bring it home a little bit and explore the beauty of a music festival by the sea.
The UK hosts a number of beach festivals throughout the summer, and there’s a few we’ve grown very fond of over the years.
Starting this weekend is the Gold Coast OceanFest in Croyde, Devon. Along with a number of super talented up-and-coming acts playing throughout the weekend, this year will see Sigma, the Kaiser Chiefs and Scouting For Girls headlining the three day event. Set up on Croyde’s beautiful beach, it’s a trip worth doing if you’re after a coastal family retreat with a twist.
After an amazing inaugural edition in 2016, Tunes In The Dunes festival comes back to Perranporth’s enormous beach with an even bigger line up. Acts include the likes of Clean Bandit, Billy Ocean, Reef, John Newman, Example, Primal Scream and more… Amazing!
The UK’s biggest and most notorious beach festival is back this year with what we’d claim as its best ever line up. Two Door Cinema Club, Jamiroquai, Alt J, The Flaming Lips, The Vaccines, Stormzy are headlining alongside a roster of amazing indie rock bands, house DJs, and grime hip-hop acts. Did we mention Jamiroquai is headlining?
Tickets already booked? If so, then now’s the time to plan what will end up being the most memorable trip of your summer. First stop, clothes! The sandy beaches of the south west call for some lightweight layering and the footwear to match.
For men, we’ve picked out a few seasonal staples themed around one of this summer’s hottest trends: floral. Go ahead and match the Preston vest with the Jekyl flip-flops and Pump backpack. Team up with the Hugo hybrid boardshorts and you’ll be able to nip out of the festival area for a quick dip in the sea.

For the ladies, we’ve kept it light and versatile, pairing the Riot striped vest with the Billie denim shorts. Accessories are covered with the Cosmos flip flops and Eliza bag, whilst swimwear is definitely the way to go; here we’ve picked the Leena triangle bikini.

See you at the beach!
