A weekend with Wild & Free Retreats
There’s something about the Cornish coastline. It draws you in with its honesty, lifting you away from the everyday. There’s an energy that roams free whether you’re in the water or exploring the headlands. We can’t get enough of it, and were lucky enough to be invited down to Kernow by Alan Stokes and Philly Lewis last weekend, for an exclusive Wild & Free Retreat experience. Needless to say, we duly accepted the offer.

The retreats are the perfect outlet for Alan, who’s been sponsored by Animal as a pro surfer for 20 years now, and fellow advocate Philly to pass on their expertise through tailored surf and yoga retreats.
“We want other people to feel and experience what we do and love on a daily basis. We know how good it is for you and passing on our knowledge and seeing people having an awesome time makes us smile.
We came up with Wild & Free earlier this year and are busy building unique experiences with surf and yoga at their core.” Alan Stokes, 3 x British Surf Champion.

Held in the quiet, idyllic cove of Mawgan Porth, just a short drive along the winding coastal road from Newquay, this exclusive weekend was just for a handful of magazines to enjoy so we were naturally chuffed to be asked to come along. It was ace to meet Rosie (OK Magazine), Francesca (Women’s Health), Emily and Hannah (Twice the Health) as well as the super friendly folk of The Park Cornwall. Read all about TTH's Emily and Hannah's Cornish experience here.

Amazing fun was had by all with yurt camping in the valley under the stars, with wood fires and great food. Sunrise Vinyasa beach yoga with yogi Philly and expert surf tuition and coaching with Stokes left smiles all round. Sunset Yin yoga and meditation on the decking amongst the trees was the perfect ending to a beautiful two days. Thanks for having us along guys!
