Steph Caller at the Wakeboard World Cup in China
Animal team rider and ambassador Steph Caller recently traveled to China to compete in the prestigious Wakeboard World Cup. It was a big event but Steph kept her composure and secured a solid 6th place finish. We caught up with Steph to get the lowdown on this amazing experience, here's what she had to say.
"Couldn’t be happier coming back from the World Cup in China… had an amazing trip and came 6th! It’s been a pretty awesome year for me wakeboarding – I didn’t really expect much, having not had the chance to ride as much as usual with my local lake temporarily closing. But I think winning the British Nationals at the start of the summer gave me a real boost for the season...
I got selected to represent GB at the Europeans in September in Italy, where I came 8th and then had a couple of weeks to train back in the UK before heading out to Shanghai at the start of October. I was really excited to be invited to the event and to represent team GB along with my buddies Chloe Goudie, Sophie Cordery, Ryan Peacock and ski jumper Ben Toyne."
"International events are great as you get to catch up with friends from all over the world, visit a new country and watch the level of the sport you love get higher and higher. It’s insane what some of the girls are doing now… so motivating and a real privilege to be a part of.
Can’t wait for next summer already…"
