Thousands turned up at the US Snowboard Nationals this past week at Copper Mountain, Colorado.

The Copper pipe is renowned worldwide, standing at 22 foot with a 17 percent grade, and has traditionally held some of the most exciting events of the National Championships. The format sees competitors qualify through their regional series and the best riders turn up to compete with their clubs.

Now, Ayla Thidling may not hail from the US, but given her results last year in the French and Austrian Nationals, as well as World Rookie Tour she managed to qualify for the Open category – no mean feat for a European based rider.

Ayla did more than just qualify though, and stomped her way to a 3rd place and bronze medal. Congratulations Ayla, there’s a serious amount of stoke running through Animal house right now for you!
